National Center for Homeless Education Technical Assistance
Overview
Synergy provides data and technical assistance (TA) that increase access to reliable information about the education and well-being of children, youth, and families experiencing homelessness. Through Synergy’s support of the NCHE.ed.gov TA center website, the National Center for Homeless Education offers resources to assist states and local education agencies to remain compliant with federal legislation—the McKinney Vento Act.
To ensure that youth experiencing homelessness are being consistently identified and resourced, Synergy conducts quality checks of data and develops products to support local, state, and national efforts to better serve the 1.2 million youth experiencing homelessness.
Impact
Synergy products—including maps, “report cards” on service, and “workbooks” that aim to improve equity—provide administrators and educators with the information necessary to make evidence-based and data-driven decisions regarding compliance, funding, and policy at the local, state, and federal educational levels.
